Today I was craving an acai bowl, but I've avoided buying one for the longest because I didn't want the plastic container. But I planned ahead today and brought my own bowl! I kind of threw them off, but they were intrigued and they let me do it. I was pretty excited.

I had so much fun at the 'Wear Justice' event that happened last Friday! It was encouraging to see so many people show up and really exciting to see the various styles of PLNU

That's great, Jazmine! Wish I could have been there, but I had an "emergency" babysitting gig because my daughter crunched her car! :-(

This past Sunday, I decided to try the new Ofo bikes lying around San Diego and go check out the farmer's market in Hillcrest. I've never gone before and i've been meaning to go. The Ofo bike was so much fun and easier than I thought to use. The only downside was that you can't keep the bike while you run your errand. I had to find a new one after the farmer's market which was a bit of a bummer. But I had such a great time at the farmer's market and made it a goal to purchase all my groceries for the week from there (because it's local, seasonal, and way less packaging waste). It was great trying new fruits/veggies, being able to support local farmers, and actually enjoy grocery shopping. I definitely need to do that more.

I started to become more conscious to refusing to purchase and consume meat/dairy products. It has surprisingly become more habitual to eat less meat/dairy. It's also saved me a few bucks which is nice. The only thing is that I had a counselor tell me that I looked like I had been losing a lot of weight, and I was shocked to find out that I have. For me this is not necessarily a great thing for me since I'm already on the thinner side. It could have happened over the course of the year since I've moved off campus and been eating more sustainable foods. I'm going to meet up with the nutritionist on campus to learn how to create a well-rounded diet for me and be healthy and ethical!

That is really cool that you took to step to eat less meat and dairy! It is also a smart call to get a nutritionist's opinion to do that in a more healthy way when it comes to substituting different foods.

One of my biggest challenges has been reducing my CO2 emmessions from driving. I've tried to be more aware to when I can carpool places with my friends or skip my car all together and walk to places around me. Even my boyfriend and I started carpooling to church, before we would drive separately and we typically would end up both driving back to his place. Also my boss and I carpool to my internship I have with her on Fridays now and that's been really fun!

What a great way to not only reduce your CO2 emissions, but also spend quality time with people.

Lately I've been feeling very dehydrated because I had lost my reusable water bottle a few months ago. I haven't gotten another one because I had been waiting on my mom to send me a water bottle she bought me for Christmas.

It's left me in this interesting place day-by-day making the choice to either dehydrate if I can't find a water fountain throughout my day or being forced to buy a plastic water bottle. What made me upset were the lack of choices offered in most places of other water  bottle materials such as glass or even boxed water.

But thankfully my beautiful reusable water bottle finally came in and I can finally drink water throughout my day without worry of waste.

Today I tried composting for the first time. I've been trying to learn how to compost, however I've been running into problems because I live in such a small apartment and I don't have any land. But I called around to see if I could donate my scraps to someone else. Turns out Whole Foods in Hillcrest accepts donations since they have a company that picks up their scraps daily for composting. And it's right around the corner from where I live, so it's a short drive and I can get my grocery shopping done.
