Michael Figueroa 4/11/2018 2:42 PMMy roommates and I were looking at a house for next year that had space for a chicken and for gardening and we were pretty excited. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the house. But we have been talking more about gardening and making plans for when we get a house. -
Michael Figueroa 4/11/2018 2:35 PMI watched the True Cost movie last night. It was eye opening and definitely made me want to slow down as a consumer. I loved hearing the guy from Patagonia speaking about how their company wants to inform consumers of their impact, it is amazing to see such a transparent company that is going against the grain. -
Michael Figueroa 4/04/2018 1:52 PMI took the PLNU off campus shuttle to the old town trolley station with some friends and we took the trolley to downtown for dinner. It was a lot of fun and very easy to do. It’s nice that our school offers rides off campus. Also I kept my trolley card from the last time I rode it and saved 2 dollars. -
Michael Figueroa 3/28/2018 3:03 PMI have been trying to spend more time in silence and solitude. I want to live out of a place of rest instead of living to rest.-
Harry Watkins 4/02/2018 1:17 PMThis is a profound idea, Michael. I hope you lean into it! -
Michelle Picca 3/29/2018 4:25 PMRest and Sabbath are essential! As Christians we have to be different from our neighbors in how we spend our time outside of work; that is, how we rest. According to the Bible, it is about more than just taking time off. After creating the world, God looked around and saw that “it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). God did not just cease from his labor; he stopped and enjoyed what he had made. This means for us that need to stop to enjoy God, to enjoy his creation, to enjoy the fruits of our labor. The whole point of Sabbath is joy in what God has done.

Michael Figueroa 2/22/2018 6:50 PMI walked to Jensens tonight to get dinner and pick up some groceries. And on my way back it started raining but I was wearing a waterproof jacket so it was actually pretty enjoyable. -
Michael Figueroa 2/21/2018 2:32 PMAlso I started watching Planet Earth and I watched the "Cities" episode and it was very cool and it tied in with what we are learning this week.-
Michelle Picca 2/21/2018 3:05 PMI love that documentary! It really demonstrates the beauty and complexities of God's creation!

Michael Figueroa 2/21/2018 2:31 PMI carpooled and then took public transportation to go to dinner in Little Italy this past weekend. -
Michael Figueroa 2/07/2018 1:06 PMThis week I did not except and bags while I was getting groceries. I also forgot I reusable bag so I felt funny trying to carry everything but it was worth it and it also reminded me to keep my reusable bag handy. -
Michael Figueroa 1/31/2018 2:49 PMThis week I took breaks from studying and would spend some moments in silence. I also went to the farmers market on Saturday and bought some locally grown fruit.-
Harry Watkins 2/04/2018 3:53 PMGreat, Michael. Even better during those breaks....get up and walk around a bit. My body really appreciates the movement after sitting a long time.
