One of my favorite things to do is make conscious choices in the grocery store, to choose organic vegetables and fruits as well as buying things in bulk and shopping at farmers markets and CO-OPs as much as possible.

I have been volunteering with the Nonprofit Plant With Purpose, an environmentally and humanitarian focused organization. I will be volunteering for four more Christmas markets. I like volunteering as I get to speak to many people about Plant with Purposes mission.

A great organization that deals right at the intersection of environmental justice and economic well being.

I have been good at eating less meat however being at home for thanksgiving I have eaten more meat. I have also realized how wasteful the holidays are in reguards to gifts, wrapping paper and excess food

Yesterday, my friends and I drove to Julian. It was so nice to spend time with friends, support local pies businesses and be in a mountain town. Although the gas and footprint is large, We managed to carpool a full car of 5 for maximum fun!

Emma and I carpooled to class today which is so simple yet effective. We saved gas, reduced our carbon footprint and connected about our weekend.

In order to incorporate simplicity into my daily life I have just deleted snapchat and Instagram because I have found myself spending too much time wasted on social media. I'm sure I will redownload them but for now it feels good to focus on other areas of my life such as exercising.

I have invested in a plastic straw and mason jar where I will use for whenever I am ordering a drink in a place that would serve me in a plastic cup. Now I am looking to buy reusable produce bags for fruit shopping.

I've been looking into getting a reusable straw. Where did you get yours from?

Something I am usually really good at is only using my own mug or water bottle rather than disposable. However, I went to Better Buzz yesterday and was bummed after I realized my drink came in a plastic cup and that I didnt have a reusable container so I felt guilty for my plastic cup.

Yesterday a friend and I went to a local vegan restaurant called Plant Power in Ocean Beach. It is a unique vegan restaurant as it "fast food" vegan. I had a burger and a "milkshake" and a "burger" which were both delicious and satisfying. It is really not that hard to switch to certain vegan meals and there are vegan-friendly options available  when you do want to indulge in an "unhealthy meal"

I LOVE PLANT POWER! I agree it is nice to have a "cheat" meal that is still healthy. My go to  there is the chill cheese fries, so good!

YES! I love plant power. It's really cool to have "healthy fast food" available and still get our unhealthy fix! I love the "chicken" sandwich!
