Jesse Torres 3/05/2018 10:28 AMI've really slacked off a bit. I haven't been on this website in a week. I'm still doing the challenges, but I keep forgetting to check them off of this website. -
Jesse Torres 2/26/2018 11:15 AMEcoChallenge February 26:1) Check-In-Accountability. Justin has obtained over 400 points. He finds the project fun and it’s important to contribute. I did not go that much to this website last week due to being busy with a major exam.2) Points-Increase? My point total has increased. I slacked off last week, but I have accumulated around 260 points. I’m worried I won’t achieve my original goal of 1,000, but I’ll keep trying to be more sustainable.3) Biggest Challenges. The main challenge’s I am trying to do is cutting back on meat, but I can not give it up. I have also struggled with making sure I log in to the website everyday rather than just two or three times a week.4) Positives-Rewards vs. Costs. I have lost a little weight cutting back on the meat and eating more green foods. I have also cut back a bit on the waste I contribute to my family’s trash can and I have saved much water each week. -
Jesse Torres 2/14/2018 11:24 AMEcoChallenge February 14:1) What are you working on? Even before taking this class, I already did some of these actions regularly; Print Double Sided from the Waste challenges, Skip Partying from the Health challenges, and Turn It Off from the Energy challenges are a few examples. Currently, I am working on a few different challenges. The main two categories I am working on are the Food actions and Water actions, and I have already done a few from each. Some of the Food and Water actions I have done include Reducing Dining Hall Waste, 5-Minute Showers, Smart Seafood, and If It’s Yellow Let It Mellow. I have also done a few challenges from Energy and Waste. I plan on working on a new challenge from the Health and Transportation categories within the next week or two.2) Describe your experience. Overall, my experience has been pretty good so far. I was already trying to live sustainably even before taking this class and being a part of the Campus EcoChallenge, and when I first logged onto this website I noticed several challenges that I already do at home regularly. As of today, Wednesday, February 14, 2018, I have earned a total of 186 points, 47 of which came from this week. I have noticed a few subtle changes to my habits after keeping better tract of these actions by logging into the website more than just once a week like I did back in January. One of my impacts, according to the EcoChallenge website, says that I am on tract to saving over 70 gallons of water. And I am hoping to get around 1,000 points by the end of the semester. -
Jesse Torres 2/12/2018 9:42 AMI have made a fair amount of progress after just 1 month of participating in the Campus EcoChallenge. I have earned around 200 points so far and I have noticed a few subtle changes I've been making in my daily life. -
Jesse Torres 2/09/2018 10:19 AMAfter just a few weeks of participating in the Campus EcoChallenge, I feel that I have already made a few small yet important changes to how I live sustainably. Also, the textbook I ordered recently came it and it is pretty awesome. Here's hoping I can step it up and keep improving my progress this semester. -
Jesse Torres 1/29/2018 11:18 AMI am going to do more than just 1 activity this week and try to improve on the activities I do even before starting this class. -
Jesse Torres 1/23/2018 8:42 AMSo I am looking forward to taking part in this EcoChallenge project, but is anybody else having trouble navigating the website?
